In the early days, back in '99, web sites were developed predominantly with a bit of software called Dreamweaver and were really not user-updateable (often referred to as 'static' web sites) and were often time consuming (and thus expensive). Things have moved on in a way we could not have imagined back then. Nowadays, we support the concept of Open Source software. This is low cost (or often free) but also extremely powerful. Editors like Aptana Studio are used to hand code, programs like Filezilla are used to upload web files, and content management systems like Joomla! and Drupal or Wordpress can be used to develop and maintain a web site. Even open source graphics editing software can be used where possible.

The long and the short is this: if we can keep our costs down by avoiding commercial suites (that can be VERY expensive), we can pass the savings on to you. So, when you hear our quote, it's not because we are cheap - it's because we are offering you a value proposition.

If you are happy with technology, configuring name servers, pointing, A records etc, we are probably not for you; you can purchase domain and hosting services through one of the larger companies out there. However, if these terms mean nothing to you, or you simply don't want to spend the time - relax. We manage the whole process for you (hence our unique selling point "managed web solutions"), including renewals, domain registrations and hosting or email services. This means that we retain overall control on your behalf, leaving you free to manage your business, usually at similar or less expensive rates.

Our bread and butter is web design - many of our clients have come from 'free' web site deals after becoming disillusioned with what they can achieve. They are now able to spend all their time on their businesses - a more productive use of time. However, we are able to pass on savings with web hosting as well via this managed service.

In spite of this more personalised approach, we do offer competitive industry rates, and usually beat them. Our infrastructure arrangements mean we have lower overheads - we invest our time in providing a more personal service.
